Boys and their Bikes

It was an awesome day! Beautiful blue skies, warm sun and a cool Spring breeze... and the bikes come out! And, for Harry he had a very successful 2 wheeler ride. It's been slow coming, but like Mom & Dad, he's there, and now he owns the road!

A visit with the Mayhew Girls!

Rory, Fiona and mom, Laura, come over for a visit to the new house. There was an extra bonus as Alicia is visiting and working on decorating the new place. All the girls had great fun with David, as Dad and Harry couldn't be bothered and played their computer game. Before leaving the girls had a snack, and let me take a few pics. Muck, we need to do this more often!

Go See 'Um

Harry has done some cool things with the Cub Scouts and tonight was one of the best. We went to see the Fairfax County Police Helicopter. After a very interesting video where we followed the chopper in hot pursuit, and using their various high tech gadgets, we went to view the real thing up-close. The boys were fascinated, and the officers were terrific as they explained every thing in great detail. Before leaving, everyone received a pair of wings.

Happy Birthday Harry!

I know, it's hard for me to believe that Harry turned 8, today. Seems like yesterday he was as bald as Mr. Clean and toothless as the Efferdent Lady! Harry's celebration started on Friday when we went shopping for his present. He wanted a Beta fish and we let him pick it out. He decided on one he calls, Rainbow. The tail is blue, and then purple, the body gets lighter, until the face is while. Very cool! Today is his actual birthday and two parties. His friends gather at UltraZone for Laser Tag. It was a great first Laser Tag experience. Very well run, and the boys had a grand time. I made shirts so we could keep up with the guys, but apparenlty you couldn't see anything in the Laser Tag chamber. It was like Chuck E Cheese on steroids! After being home for a short time, our family arrived. The boys, Harry, Dad and Cousin Jimmy headed out for baseball practice. David, Alicen, Melissa and Aunt Chip enjoyed a fun afternoon at the house. It was the first visit to the new house, and everyone liked it. Two cakes later we called it a day. Harry had an awesome 8th birthday!

When Irish Eyes are Smiling!!

The Chaklader's had an awesome St. Patrick's Day 2009! Mom attended David's last St. Patrick's Day Parade and Sing-along. And, then we had a fun evening, with shamrock rolls, and an evening outside. I also miss Mom on St. Patty's Day. She use to make the best Irish meal and have everyone over. If I'm unpacked by next year, maybe I will start the tradition!

MINI Crisis...

I'm a little late in spreading the good news about my new ride, but I bought the car one day and we had a snow storm the next. I've been loving the ride so much, I haven't stopped to Blog. She's a beautiful Hot Chocolate, yes that is the name of the color, with Hot Chocolate leather interior with white piping. I LOVE HER! Harry has nicked named her, "Cocoa Puff". I call her Cocoa!
