The storm ended on Saturday afternoon, and as of 2pm today, we have yet to see a plow. Well, I looked out the front door and noticed that several of the men from the pipestem, and other neighbors in our cul-de-sac were out shoveling the street. I yelled to Subir and he didn't hesitate to get his gear on and get out there. It was amazing, and the view from our bedroom showed the results. It appeared to look like a wagon wheel with several spokes to our drive-ways. Later, on the 11pm news, one of the stores was about the fact our street had not seen a plow. Wooden Hawk is famous, friendly and know who to GET IT DONE!! Thanks to all, and especially to the guy who drove Subir to the grocery store for more soda. We had plenty food, but I can't get by as well without my daily fix of Coca-Cola!

The days after...
The sun came out, the sky is blue, BUT the snow is sticking around! The past few days were about digging out. David LOVES to be out with Dad, and up to the neighbors. Harry has been hanging out more at home, but has been out every day just to see the progress. In one of the pictures you will see a tree has fallen on the new deck and screened in porch. And, the weather advisory is now a warning and possible Blizzard conditions. When did we move to Milwaukee?

S-N-O-W!!! In a word...
We are having a Winter in Burke this year... we've had snow on the ground since December 19th, and I think it may be her until March 19th... This is an "epic" snow as Harry said, and whatever name you want to give it, it's going to take its place in the history books. Subir dug a path out to the cars and the end of the drive-way, but it was still snowing, today. Tomorrow, will be the BIG DIG OUT! And, then the BIG GAME!

David's 1/2 Birthday, January 13th
I'm so behind...
David had an awesome 1/2 birthday, today! His Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Brinley, celebrates 1/2 birthdays of the July/August birthday children. David felt so important and helped me plan what to take in for his celebration. We purchased little sand pails and stuffed them with a few things to remind the children of Summer, when David's true birthday falls. One boy even said, "I think I can smell the beach!" David was beaming during his celebration, and for one who hasn't had the strongest start in school, he was at the top of the class! My 1/2 birthday is on Sunday, hmmm, maybe we can keep the tradition??

Happy Birthday - Subir, Alicia & Uncle Sam and celebrating at VA Beach!
We celebrated Subir's Birthday on July 2nd, Alicia's on July 3rd and Uncle Sam's on July 4th. This was our quick Summer vacation. Found a great hotel, Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort in VA Beach on 39th Street. They had two indoor pools, one with a lazy river. The outdoor pool was huge and right on the Ocean. Davy didn't want to go on the beach, but talked him into it by day 3, and July 4th. We spent the morning of the 4th at the VA Aquarium with Alicia. The night before I went out with the girls to celebrate A's birthday at a cool inlet bar. The boys dropped me off and went to see Ice Age II. A great time and we stopped at Sissy's on the way home for Jimmy's 8th birthday party. It was a very full weekend.
